The various crowns are described in 2 Timothy 2:5, 2 Timothy 4:8, James 1:12, 1 Peter 5:4, and Revelation 2:10. The Bible speaks of believers receiving crowns for different things based on how faithfully they served Christ (1 Corinthians 9:4-27 2 Timothy 2:5). Some of the things we might be judged on are how well we obeyed the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20), how victorious we were over sin (Romans 6:1-4), and how well we controlled our tongues (James 3:1-9). However, that is not going to be the primary focus of the judgment seat of Christ.Īt the judgment seat of Christ, believers are rewarded based on how faithfully they served Christ (1 Corinthians 9:4-27 2 Timothy 2:5). Part of this is surely answering for the sins we committed. Yes, as the Bible says, we will have to give an account of ourselves. We should not look at the judgment seat of Christ as God judging our sins, but rather as God rewarding us for our lives. All of our sins are forgiven, and we will never be condemned for them (Romans 8:1). The judgment seat of Christ does not determine salvation that was determined by Christ’s sacrifice on our behalf (1 John 2:2) and our faith in Him (John 3:16). The judgment seat of Christ, therefore, involves believers giving an account of their lives to Christ. Second Corinthians 5:10 tells us, “We must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.” In context, it is clear that both passages refer to Christians, not unbelievers. So then, each of us will give an account of himself to God” (ESV). 2 Corinthians 5:10, CSB: For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each may be repaid for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil. We will each receive whatever we deserve for the good or evil we have done in this earthly body. The deadliest attitude of the Pharisees that we exhibit today is not hypocrisy but that which comes from unconsciously living a lie.Romans 14:10–12 says, “For we will all stand before God’s judgment seat. 2 Corinthians 5:10, NLT: For we must all stand before Christ to be judged. For many of us, walking in the light means walking according to the standard we have set up for another person. Yes, that’s a morbid yet sobering thought one each person will face one day. 2 Corinthians 5:10 Life has a 100 mortality rate. “If we walk in the light as He is in the light…” ( 1 John 1:7). For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad. No power, except the power that comes from being filled with the Holy Spirit, can change or prevent the inherent consequences of sin. No struggling or praying will enable you to stop doing certain things, and the penalty of sin is that you gradually get used to it, until you finally come to the place where you no longer even realize that it is sin. It is not only God who punishes for sin, but sin establishes itself in the sinner and takes its toll. One of the penalties of sin is our acceptance of it.

Bring it immediately into the light and confess, “Oh, Lord, I have been guilty there.” If you don’t, your heart will become hardened through and through. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive what is due him for the things done while in the body, whether good or. One carnal judgment of another person only serves the purposes of hell in you. Tolerating a wrong attitude toward another person causes you to follow the spirit of the devil, no matter how saintly you are. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be. Live constantly reminding yourself of the judgment seat of Christ, and walk in the knowledge of the holiness He has given you. Paul says that we must all, preachers and other people alike, “appear before the judgment seat of Christ.” But if you will learn here and now to live under the scrutiny of Christ’s pure light, your final judgment will bring you only delight in seeing the work God has done in you.
